Linking two units through NMEA 0183 to share a GPS module

After you have the units wired as per diagram you will need set up nmea0183 in 
each unit. Here's how: locate "Communications Port" in the menu. Depending on 
which unit it is this is usually located in 2nd menu under System Setup. Some 
older units may be different. The unit that has the gps module connected 
to it is referred to as the "host unit" from here on out. Enter 
communications port of host unit (antenna unit) and set unit to send NMEA0183 or 
sometimes called GPS out Enter communications port of receiving unit and set 
this unit to receive NMEA0183 The host unit must always be turned on to 
use gps on the receiving unit. <A
